Vision
Our Parish Mission Team proclaims the Gospel in a relevant encouraging and challenging way. Recognising our own need for constant conversion and renewal, we seek to present the person of Jesus and our Catholic Faith in an uplifting way, which invites a new openness to the Holy Spirit. We wish to encourage Parish Communities to realise that God has a mission plan for them. We seek to help parishioners deepen their personal relationship with Jesus and the Church.
We see this happening through:
Parish Mission Structure
Phase 1, Pre – MissionIt is vitally important that our missions are well prepared. This means working in partnership with the Priests and laity of the Parish at an early stage. Our Pre – Mission co-ordinator visits the Parish {usually six months to a year before the event} to explain the ethos and practicalities of a Ceili Community Parish Mission. We have a variety of Parish Mission structures (see Available Themes). These themes can be adopted to meet particular needs and local circumstances.

Our Pre – Mission Co-ordinator seeks to:-

Phase 2, Two Week Mission Event.
Week One: House to house visitation and National/Primary school mission.
During the first week of the mission our door to door Visiting Team spend most of their day on door to door visitation. They call on as many parishioners as possibly to pray in the homes and invite people to the Mission services.
Our Primary School Mission Team during this time works in the school(s) with staff and children. This helps to present the Gospel to the whole school community.
Week Two: Mission Services.

The last week of the Mission concentrates on the celebration of our Catholic faith and on-going conversion through:-
Encouraging the faith of priests and people.
The celebration of the sacraments {especially The Eucharist and Reconciliation}.
Preaching.
Liturgy.
One – to - one prayer ministry.
Phase 3, Follow - Up.
As part of Ceili’s ongoing assessment we desire to evaluate our Parish Missions with the Priests parish staff and significant lay people. This gives all concerned an opportunity to talk about the Parish and its needs. It is Ceili’s desire to have on-going follow-up with the parish.
Where appropriate Ceili Community can be available to continue working with and equipping the Parish to become more effective in their mission by providing training in:-
- Basic evangelisation.
- Door to door outreach.
- Making contact with new housing developments.
- Pastoral planning.
- Leadership.
We offer a variety of mission approaches and themes.

“The Mission of being the primary cell of society has been given to the family by God himself. This mission will be accomplished if the family, by the mutual affection of its members and by family prayer, presents itself as a domestic sanctuary of the Church; if the whole family takes its part in the Church’s liturgical worship; if finally it offers active hospitality, and practices justice and other good works for the benefit of all its brothers and sisters suffering from want."(Decree on the Apostolate of Laypeople. #11)
The praying in and blessing of a home is a very important and memorable occasion in the life of a Christian family. That is why it is right for us as members of Ceili Community, to make it a vital part of our Parish Mission strategy.

Purpose and Aims of a Home Visitation
- To be obedient to Christ’s command.
- To present the person of Christ in a home setting.
- To work as a collaborate Model of Church.
- To make personal contact with people.
- To pray in the home.
- To show that the Church cares.
- To encourage those who attend Mass.
- To make contact with those who have “lapsed”.
- To help publicise the Mission.
