It is the policy of Céilí Community to do everything in our power to safeguard the welfare of children and vulnerable adults to whom we minister or with whom we share.
We cherish and affirm each person as a gift from God with an inherent right to dignity of life and bodily integrity which shall be respected, nurtured and protected by all and we strive to protect everyone from physical, sexual and emotional harm. Everyone in Céilí Community has an obligation to ensure that the fundamental rights of children and vulnerable adults are respected. These guiding principles inform Céilí Community’s policy. The policy has been devised to ensure that Céilí Community takes every possible measure to implement the Safeguarding Policy of the Catholic Church in Ireland and in particular the Catholic Diocese of Meath. Ceili Community is committed to: 1. Best practice in ensuring the safeguarding of vulnerable adults, children and young people, protecting their rights and promoting their welfare. 2. Minimizing risks in order to safeguard the interests of children, young people and vulnerable adults. 3. Ensuring that all Céilí personnel, are carefully selected, trained, supported and supervised. 4. Ensuring that all staff and volunteers, are carefully recruited, trained, supported and supervised. 5. Ensuring that all Céilí members and relevant staff and volunteers are aware of, trained in and work to the Code of Behaviour for working with Children and vulnerable adults. 6. Reporting concerns to statutory agencies who need to know and involving parents, carers, children, and young people appropriately; and working closely with statutory authorities to ensure that all allegations of abuse are dealt with justly and promptly. Our community is committed to the implementation of Child and Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding Statement and the procedures that support our intention to keep all safe from harm when we are working with them.
